To achieve the ideal outcome after your treatment, it’s important to follow our aftercare guidelines.
To achieve the optimal outcome, we would recommend the following:
1. Don’t rub the treated area today – no facials, massages or pressure to the treated area.
2. Don’t apply makeup for 4 hours – although unlikely it can increase the risk of infection.
3. Stay upright for 4 hours post-treatment and try to sleep on your back the first night.
4. No alcohol or exercise for the rest of the day.
5. For any pain, we’d suggest paracetamol; anti-inflammatory medications like aspirin or ibuprofen are not recommended.
6. For any small bruises, hirudoid or arnica can speed the resolution
Treatments take up to 14 days to take full effect.
If you would like a “top up” after two weeks, this can be assessed, and extra product injected into the area if necessary.
To achieve the optimal outcome, we would recommend the following:
1. Bruising can occur, you may feel tenderness after the local anaesthetic wears off. Ice can be applied to help reduce pain and swelling. hirudoid or arnica cream can help resolve a bruise.
2. Paracetamol is recommended for any pain.
3. Avoid makeup (including lipstick or lip gloss) for the rest of the day to reduce the risk of infection
4. Don’t rub the treated area for a week- no facials, massages or pressure to the treated area.
5. If you have a history of cold sores, we recommend famciclovir (ask a local chemist) to reduce the likelihood of an outbreak after your treatment
6. If at any point you notice significant pain greater than what is expected, white or patchy discolouration at or near the site of injection or any changes to vision or other significant concerns, please get in touch with the treating nurse immediately.
7. If outside of hours, please get in touch with 1300 377 437 & speak to our after-hours nurse.
1. Mild pain, bruising and swelling are to be expected and will resolve in a few days.
2. Massage the treatment areas for 5min / 5 times a day for 5 days.
3. Mild exercise is permitted, but please try to keep the face free of sweat.
4. You may move your face in a normal fashion.
5. Makeup may be worn 24 hours after treatment.
1. Mild to moderate redness, pain, bruising, and swelling is normal and will resolve in seven to ten days.
2. Do not use anti-inflammatory medication such as Nurofen or Voltaren for 48 hrs. Panadol is ok.
3. Avoid sun exposure for 14 days post-treatment.
4. Avoid the use of makeup for 24 hours after treatment. It is imperative that you let your skin breathe. Using a makeup brush that has been used before can contaminate the skin and lead to infections. Wait 24 to 48 hours before you apply face makeup to give your skin the necessary recovery time.
5. Avoid vigorous exercise or perspiring heavily for 24-48 hours. As you sweat, the pores of your skin will reopen, and the bacteria on your skin may enter the skin punctures. This can lead to a reaction or infection.
6. Avoid anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers for two weeks.
1. Warm, flushed feeling for the first few hours.
2. Small bumps at each injection site that settle within 12-14 hours. Bruises may appear at the injection site.
3. Slightly tender injection sites for 2-3 days.
4. Panadol for any mild discomfort in your skin, the necessary recovery time.
5. Avoid makeup (including lipstick or lip gloss) for the rest of the day to reduce the risk of infection.
6. Don’t rub the treated area for 2-3 days- no facials, massages or pressure to the treated area for the first week if possible.
